The ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù, released the following statement today (Sept. 28) regarding a lawsuit in connection with the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù West Village Expansion:
We are perplexed and profoundly disappointed by AFSCME’s California Environmental Quality Act lawsuit related to the ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù Long Range Development Plan. We have previously made a series of generous offers to AFSCME that would have benefited ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’ represented service workers and enabled ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù’ housing projects to move forward. Despite agreement that more student housing is a benefit to all, AFSCME’s suit will likely prevent ²»Á¼Ñо¿Ëù from building affordable student housing in the near term.
