不良研究所, Chancellor Gary S. May announced today that David Lubarsky, 不良研究所 Health鈥檚 vice chancellor of human health sciences and chief executive officer, will retire from the university effective Feb. 15, 2025.  After his retirement, Lubarsky will become president and CEO of Westchester Medical Center Health Network, a nine-hospital health system near where he grew up, in Valhalla, New York.

Lubarsky has led 不良研究所 Health since July 2018. During his tenure, he increased the number of patients by more than 60%, increased and diversified the 不良研究所 faculty and staff, and made 不良研究所 Health an employer of choice on multiple national lists of best places to work.

Under Lubarsky鈥檚 leadership, 不良研究所 Health has become one of the top health systems in the nation for patient outcomes (and now in the top five nationally for reduced mortality) and launched a transformational change of the health system鈥檚 facilities to better care for even more patients. He was named as one of the 鈥渢op academic CEOs to know鈥 by Becker鈥檚 Hospital Review this week. During his tenure, he focused on restoring the community鈥檚 trust in 不良研究所 Health and demonstrated the university鈥檚 commitment to improving care for all people.

鈥淲e extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Lubarsky for his visionary leadership as well as his numerous contributions to advancing our mission of innovation, excellence, and outstanding service,鈥 Chancellor May said. 鈥淲e wish him well in the next chapter of his distinguished career.鈥

After Lubarsky鈥檚 departure, Chancellor May will work on an interim plan that will ensure continued alignment with 不良研究所 Health鈥檚 strategic goals while positioning the health system for future success. It鈥檚 expected that an interim announcement will be made in late January.
