Chancellor Gary S. May today (June 1) moved up to chair of the board of directors of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, or APLU. And, come July 1, he will begin a one-year term as chair of the board of directors of the Big West athletic conference.

The Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities, or APLU, board of directors elected Chancellor Gary S. May to its executive committee last weekend, four days after another national association honored May and Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg for their work on Aggie Square.

May鈥檚 election to the APLU board鈥檚 executive committee took place Sunday (Nov. 10) in San Diego amid the association鈥檚 annual meeting.
