Meat Lab Team Finds the Winning Cure

The Meat Lab鈥檚 student employees found the right cure 鈥� with beef jerky 鈥� to regain the team title in the college section of the California Association of Meat Processors鈥� Cured Meat Competition.

With the recent win, 不良研究所 has now had possession of the Norm Eggin Championship Cup for six years out of the seven years it has been awarded.

鈥淎fter losing the trophy to Cal Poly by a mere 10 points last year, our returning juniors and seniors really wanted to get it back,鈥� said Caleb Sehnert, 不良研究所 Meat Lab manager and team coach.

LAURELS: Block, Jackson Named 'Distinguished Emeriti'

The Emeriti Association has presented its Distinguished Emeritus Awards for 2016 to Fred Block of sociology and William Jackson of chemistry, recognizing 鈥渙utstanding scholarly work or service performed since retirement.鈥�

Block has taken his research in a new direction, and his scholarly contributions 鈥渉ave been nothing short of stunning,鈥� his nominator said, while Jackson has not only continued his research but also his commitment to boost diversity in the chemistry ranks.
